Valentine's Day Protein Waffles!
I’m obsessed with making not-so-healthy recipes in a healthier way! I became obsessed with this hobby when I actively started working on my nutrition and active lifestyle. I strongly believe in everything in moderation, but its always been fun for me to find new recipes to make my favorite meals and snacks better! One of my favorite tricks for baking healthy treats is adding protein powder instead of flour to recipes. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought making heart shaped waffles would be extra fun way to turn this recipe into a really cute breakfast idea for that day, or any day!
I have tried SO many protein pancake / waffle recipes, but my absolute favorite has got to be the Tone It Up recipe! I love that I can make waffles OR pancakes with this recipe and they taste amazing!
Here’s how to make the best protein waffles ever!
Everything you’re going to need:
1 Scoop of Tone It Up Protein Powder
1/4 cup of Egg Whites
Here’s how to make them:
Mash up the banana in a bowl
Add a splash of almond milk and stir the banana and almond milk together
Combine the egg whites to the mixture
Add a dash of cinnamon to the bowl
Spray your favorite waffle iron and cook the waffles like normal!
I love adding different types of fruit (blueberries, blackberries, or EVEN chocolate chips hehe) to the waffles and pancakes as well as different toppings! My absolute favorite toppings are real maple syrup or peanut butter.
